Virtual Extra Curricular Clubs
While our physical school is closed we have lots of virtual extra curricular clubs running for Davenant students to enjoy. To sign up students need to join the relevant Google classroom. Code Club (Key stage 3) Wednesday lunchtime 12.20
Ever wanted to learn to code? This is your chance. Learn or develop existing coding skills. This club is suitable for all levels. Perhaps you are taking GCSE Computer Science next year and would like to build on what you know already or maybe you are curious and want to learn a new skill. Join the Davenant virtual code club.
The language taught will be Python with a series of fun challenges and lots of virtual rubber ducks!

Craft Club (Key stage 3) Tuesday lunchtime 12.20
Arts and crafts activities that use items around the home and garden will be posted on Tuesday lunchtimes for students to do at home. Students can also share craft ideas they have found themselves (e.g Pinterest, Youtube). Ideas could include card making, sketching, origami etc.
Creative Writing Club (Key stage 3) Friday lunchtime 12.20
A place to submit creative writing tasks, such as short stories and poetry, receive feedback and learn about local and national competitions to enter.
Economics - University challenge!!!! (Key stage 5) Thursday and Friday 3.20pm
Looking to study Economics at University? Or already accepted to do this in the Autumn? Come along and explore challenging economic context as we live through it, read and discuss the latest economic theory and attempt challenging problems across the whole rage of the discipline.
Great Davenant Bake Off (Key stage 3 and 4) Wednesday lunchtime 12.20
A weekly bake off challenge will be set on Wednesday at lunchtime. Students will be given a different theme each week (e.g sponge, biscuit, cookies). Students will have until end of school Friday (3.30pm) to submit an image of their creations. Each week a star baker will be chosen based on their bake's presentation and recipe creativity.
History Film Club (All Key stages) Monday lunchtime 12.20
The club leader will upload links to historical films/ documentaries which students can watch. On Mondays at 12.20-1.20 students can meet through google hangouts to discuss the film/documentary. There is one club for each key stage to ensure that the content for the film/ documentary is suitable.
Musicals Performance club (acting and singing). (Key stage 3) Thursday after school 3.20
A club that focuses on the presentation of monologues/duologues solo and group singing focusing on musicals and also learning about the world of performing in Musical Theatre
Quiz Of The Week (All key stages) Friday lunchtime 12.20
Kahoooooooot! Join in, in a weekly general knowledge quiz for all years! Topics ranging from music, sport, film, POP culture and more....
Silent Movie Club (All key stages) Friday lunchtime 12.20
Watching and learning about the pioneers of comedy films 100 years ago.
KS3 EASTER CHALLENGE (Key stage 3) Easter Holidays
Adobe Photoshop Club (Photo and Design Software) Wednesday lunchtimes.
This club is an opportunity for key stage students to build some Adobe Photoshop Skills, especially useful for those choosing Creative Media as an option.
CREATE AND MAKE
Why not set yourself a challenge to make something from scratch at home? See what you have at home and get creative with a little bit of sewing or making. We will share some ideas, patterns and instructions to follow and then allow you to make something with us. It would be great for you to then upload your images of the final product!
Chess club is open, using https://lichess.org to face other players from school - or games with anonymous players.
