Teacher of Music

Required for September 2024 or January 2025

Music Teacher

(MPS/UPS – Full time or Part Time)

If you want to work in a school that values Music, extra-curricular Music and Performing Arts as well as looking after their staff, come and look at Davenant.

An exciting new role has been created within our outstanding Music Department and we are looking for an inspirational and passionate teacher to join our school. This position can be part time or full time and we require someone experienced and enthusiastic, with a strong subject knowledge who enjoys working in a supportive team environment.

We would expect the successful candidate to be able to teach across all key stages as well as taking part and supporting the broad academic programme, which is a key element of the Music Department.

Music is such an important part of Davenant school with many hundreds of students taking instrument and singing lessons alongside the different ensembles. Please feel free to visit the school and experience what the Music Department can offer.

Excellent opportunities for personal development exist as part of our CPD and training programme as well as mentoring within our ITT consortium. Davenant achieves outstanding examination results but has a strong focus on co-curricular provision and seeks to “nurture mind, body and spirit”.  Staff enjoy the many opportunities this approach to education offers.

We are situated close to the M25 and central line.  We can easily be reached either from London or from the Essex/Hertfordshire countryside.

Davenant is committed to safeguarding and protecting the children and young people that we work with.  As such, all posts are subject to a safer recruitment process, including the disclosure of criminal records and vetting checks.  We ensure that we have a range of policies and procedure in place, which promote safeguarding and safer working practice across the school.

Further details of the post and the school along with application forms are available from the school website:   A letter of application, along with an application form should be submitted to the Headteacher’s P.A., Marylyn, Greengrass by the closing date – Thursday , 13th June
