Davenant Foundation School is a mixed, comprehensive school with 1150 students. We have a Christian foundation that dates back to 1680 and we are a Voluntary Aided School. We draw most of our students from Essex and the London Borough of Redbridge while, in the Sixth Form, we also take a few students from the London Borough of Waltham Forest. We are proud of our examination results and, in the past two years, over 85% of students have achieved five or more A*-C Grades which include Maths and English. Davenant is a Sport and Languages College and also a Training School. This status offers a range of extra opportunities for students and for the staff who work here.

Davenant Foundation School is delighted to announce that we will be working in partnership with Essex County Council by hosting an Information Day for the second consecutive year. This will be held on Wednesday, 1st July 2009.

Information on the variety of opportunities which now exist within schools will be available for both teaching and support staff. Staff from Essex will be in attendance to discuss opportunities across the county and to explain the general application process; and Davenant staff will be on hand to share their knowledge and expertise with potential applicants. More details will follow shortly on the Davenant website and in the local Press.
