Year 7 Joiners September 2025

Davenant Foundation School uses Applicaa for the school admissions form.  For parents/carers who have secured a Year 7 place for their child, you will receive an email from Davenant Foundation School Admissions providing you with log-in details for Applicaa. 

Please see information below for all students who have been offered and accepted a Year 7 place at Davenant Foundation School in September 2025.  This page will be updated over the coming months.

Diary dates:

  • Information evening for parents/carers and new students - Thursday 12th June 2025

The school will be open from 6.30pm onwards, with the Headteacher’s presentation starting at 7.00pm.

We will be covering lots of information about the school and the year ahead and you can collect your Induction booklet outlining key information for the start of term.

  • Induction Day - Friday 27th June 2025

Our Induction day for new joiners will take place on Friday 27 June from 9.00am - 3.15pm. The majority of new students attend on this day as it gives them the opportunity to meet friends, familiarise themselves with their new surroundings, enjoy sample lessons and meet the Head of Year 7.

All students who are unable to attend the Induction Day, are invited to an Induction morning on Thursday 3 July, 9.00am-12.20pm.

  • Second-hand uniform sale - Saturday 28 June 2025

This is an ideal opportunity for parents to purchase used and donated items of school uniform at affordable prices.

The sale will take place in the Student Reception area, adjacent to the main Davenant Reception 9.30-10.30am. 

Please bring your own carrier bag and plenty of change/small notes as there will is no facility for electronic payments at this time.

Cognitive Ability Tests (CATS)

All new Year 7 students take part in Cognitive Ability Tests where Key Stage 2 assessment data, which is used for grouping students, setting targets and planning work. This year, CATs will take place in early September during the school day.
