Twenty two students received the Governors Medal for Scholarship after achieving at least three Grade As in their examinations. Other awards were presented that included recognition of achievement in individual subjects, sport, music and the arts. A number of trophies were also given to students who had made special contributions to the community.
The Guest of Honour was former Davenant student, Etholle George, who now is a regular presenter on BBC Essex and on BBC Look East. Ms George compared the changes that had happened at the school since her time as a student in the 1980s with those things that had remained the same.
